Children’s writer, Kimberly P. Johnson, was born in Shelby, NC. She currently resides in South Carolina. She was a flight attendant for USAirways for eighteen years. Her husband, Jeff Johnson, retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service. She completed her Doctorate Degree at Northeastern University in Boston in Curriculum, Teaching Leadership and Learning in May 2016.
Kimberly is currently completing her post-doctorate work at Harvard University in Advanced Educational Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, Ma. Kimberly is a professor at Clemson University and teaches Creative Activities for Youth, she is also a professor at Clinton College where she teaches, Creative Writing for Social Change – both classes in which she created the content She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in Communications Studies. Kimberly graduated from Clemson University with a Master’s Degree in Youth Development and Leadership. Kimberly earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. She completed the Advanced Poetry Writing Program at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Dr. Johnson visits schools throughout the U.S. speaking to children and adults about literacy and writing. She conducts staff development workshops on how to motivate children in the classroom and also enjoys teaching creative writing to elementary and middle school students.
